artist's morale improved considerably.

1905년 살롱도톤 그룹전에 출품된
마르케의 청동조각을 보고 미술평론가 루이보셀이
'야수의 우리에 갇힌듯한 도나텔로'같다고
평한데서 유래한것으로 간주해요.

서서히 확산되어가는 것이 일반적이지만,
개성의 표출이라는 의식이 지배적인 Fauves들이
1908년 각자의 노선이 뚜렸해지면서
결국 해체에 이르게 됐어요.
포비즘은 비교적 단기간 지속되었고
3차례 전시회를 끝으로 막을 내렸어요.

관습을 거부한채 원색을 두텁게 입혀,
굵은 필촉의 물감자국이 적나라하게 드러나요.
이는 고흐의 영향으로 이해돼요.
